James’s cabin was very nice. It was very clean too. Bed was SUPER comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. The ONLY thing I would add to the cabin is a one burner electric stove that sits on the counter and you plug in with just 1 pot, a medium skillet and a small spatula from the dollar tree. But the description was 100% correct. |

Location is minutes from Canton Trade Days. Clean and inviting. Beautiful view of trees from porch. Peaceful. The cabin could be hard to find without James’ clear cut directions which made it a breeze! James was quick to respond to my texts when needed. We would definitely stay here again! |

I clearly see why James is a superhost. He is an excellent communcator, a great problem solver (i know this because he solved my problem) and is thoroughly prepared. The cabin was excellent and as described and the nightly rate even with the fees added in made this a really great value. I am in the Canton area often and his cabins will be the first place I look. Response: Haha, and it was a fun one to solve as well! We will be glad to have you back! |

We enjoyed our stay at Lonesome Dove. We arrived after dark and it was difficult to find but James helped us navigate over the phone to find it. Very peaceful and quaint cabin. Great location to go to Yesterland park and Rocky Ridge Safari. Beds were very comfortable and coffee selection was appreciated. It was clean, however having a baby crawling around you find all the dirt and trash left behind by previous guests. I would recommend it and stay here again. |

So quiet and peaceful! I spent a couple days away just for myself and it was everything I needed and more. I will definitely stay here again in the future! |

Clean house, peaceful outside, private. Park right next to the cabin (non-first Monday). They had on the A/C unit on when we arrived. It was 105 * OUTSIDE. Comfortable bed and sofas. |

We had a peaceful stay at the Lonesome Dove. The cabin was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Everything was exactly as described before we booked. James was very helpful from start to finish during our visit. It’s located on “the Mountain” on the First Monday trade grounds in Canton, so you’d be right in the middle of the action if you visit on one of those weekends. We were not there for First Monday, so it felt like we had the Mountain to ourselves. It was quiet and felt really private during our stay. We spent lots of time walking around the area and also listening to the birds as we drank coffee on the back porch. It’s also walking distance to downtown Canton and the shops and restaurants there. |

10/10! The pictures don’t do the home or location justice; at all. Our family of 5, 3 teens and 2 adults, made this space work happily! First weekend was still going on when we got here and if you’re not a familiar with the area, the home is located in the heart of it all! Literally, 5 feet out the door and we were shopping! We stayed through the beginning of the week and even with first Monday shopping over and the “town” empty, it was so fun to walk through, explore and get a chance to look at the scenery without all the hustle and bustle. The home was SO clean and James was the BEST to communicate with! James is the perfect example of what every air bnb host should be! The home was stocked with the necessities but also snacks and that was a fun treat. I can’t say enough good things about this experience, we’ve had some luxurious vacations but this one is our number one! Maybe it was the close quarters but I loved everything and it’s well worth it. |

We had such a lovely stay in the cabin. James was the most responsive and accommodating host! First Mondays is so much fun and definitely worth checking out if you’re there on those days. We’ll be back if we find ourselves in Canton again! |

James saved us from the heat after the storms took out most of East Texas electricity. Even let us get in early which was a huge blessing. Cabin was just as it was described and very peaceful. Daughter and I went for a walk and discovered we weren't the only ones there trying to escape the heat. We will definitely be back just for the relaxation of the place. No noise and the only time we saw people was when we went for a walk or had to go get food. |

We stayed at Lonesome Dove on The Mountain to experience the Canton Trade Days. It was a lovely time. The cabin is located in top of a large hill and had a deck running across the back of it. It wasc comfortable and had pretty much everything we needed. A few things we didn't care for: the queen bed was super squeaky. The shower head was not adjustable and hit the back of the shower wall at about forehead height on me (I'm 5'5") so I had to use a cup to wash and rinse. Other than that it was a cozy little cabin and we greatly enjoyed our time there. Response: Thank you, Rachael. Your review has finally convinced my mother in law you let me order a new bed frame for the cabin, which is on the way to Canton as we speak. I'll also be buying a new showerhead when I go into town next. |

our host was always going out of his way to accommodate us and wanted to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. we were in town for a metal detecting event and it was the perfect place as it was close to the event field. We were up early and back late in the evening and it was very comfortable and great to have a place to relax. i’m going back eventually to check out first Monday trade days for sure! Response: Steven, you were an excellent guest, and I'm glad you got some hunting in while you were in town. Can't wait to have you back! |

You can’t beat the price for a cute little getaway. The nature around the cabin is very nice, especially with the back porch/balcony. The coffee and snacks were a nice touch. The bed isn’t what I’d call comfortable and probably the loudest bed I’ve ever slept on but again, the price can’t be beat. It’s relatively easy to find with the instructions he provided, but don’t get there after dark or you might have a hard time (our mistake lol). |

We had an amazing time at the Mountain. James was an amazing host. My husband and I were in town for our 31st wedding anniversary and we had an incredible time. Coffee on the back porch is just what we needed. Lots of memories made. We will definitely be back. Response: Congratulations to you and your husband! Thank you both so much for being wonderful guests, and we cannot wait to have you guys back again! |

December trade days> | |
This place met our needs. You need to know it is very rustic It’s at the very top of the mountain. Too far for us to walk. They did provide someone with a golf cart to take us up and bring us back down. Just call and she was there in a few minutes. It was cold when we arrived. It has plug in heaters. It took a little while to warm up. The owners and vendors are trying very hard to bring back the mountain after COVID. There used to be a restaurant at the top that had music. Would have been nice not to have to go back to town to eat. Owner was easy to work with and everyone was very friendly. We will return and hope they continue to grow and be successful. Response: Thank you so much, and we are excited to have you back in the future! 100% agree on the heaters, it's towards the top of our list to get new cooling/heating where we can have them turn on before your arrival automatically. Hope we can make that investment sometime in the upcoming months! |

Excellent location if you’re there for trade days. When the trade grounds close down at 5:00, you can go back to the cute little village where this is located and keep shopping in their many shops until 10PM. There are three places to eat (BBQ, home-style Southern, and a Mexican food stand) and a wine place + live music some nights. Super easy to text for the free “golf cart taxi” to take you up & down the hill, but it’s a distance of 0.1 miles - you got this, dude. From the bottom of the hill, catch a reliable free shuttle back & forth to the trade grounds. Stayed here as a single mom w/ my daughter, and felt totally safe at all times. Beds are comfy and there are nice extra touches (breakfast bars, keurig coffee, water bottles, toiletries, hair dryer) that not every Airbnb has. Shower gets plenty hot, keyless entry, nice private sitting area on the back porch in the woods - like having a treehouse! If you’re looking for fine finishes, this isn’t the Taj Mahal. It’s a very basic cabin, but you won’t find much fancy in Canton or the surrounding areas. Soak up the local vibe at this cool spot - you’ll be happy you did! |

We visited during an “off” weekend so The Mountain was virtually vacant - which was perfect for us! Our stay was very restorative. Response: Thank you for the kind words. "Off Weekends" are my favorite time as well! |

Cute little cabin> | |
We stayed at the cabin during a weekend for 1st Monday trade days. The cabin is very cute and the atmosphere on the mountain was great! Just a short drive to trade days and don’t skip the pavilions at the base of the mountain! We found some great deals there! Response: Thank you, Kimberly! We and the other BNB owners have been working hard to create that good atmosphere, and it's wonderful to hear that is the experience you got! |

The only drawback I have is you have to call for a taxi too and from the cabin Response: We know! This is our biggest complaint as well! The property our cabin sits on closes down the roads for safety on the First Monday weekends, so we added a free taxi service for all of our guests on these weekends (we have a small army of golf carts ready from Thursday-Sunday). We try to make due as best we can! |

Cute place up the hill at The Mountain. Balcony was peaceful. Comfortable beds. We were there on First Monday weekend, but had no trouble with the transportation up/down the hill. Bev was great! The location is nice with shops, food and wine tasting room there on site. Would return! |
